The Monument - 311 Steps

I'd read about The Monument, and my oldest son told me about it as well. Three hundred and eleven steps, winding all the way up, culminating in an incomparable view of the City of London.

So of course I had to go there. The Monument's official name is The Monument to the Great Fire of London, and it was designed by Sir Christopher Wren.

Just a few of the 311 steps

    The View from the Top:

I found myself at eye-level with this crane operator.
I could see his bag of snacks and bottle of coke. I had to wonder how he felt, knowing that so many people were spying on him!

And there were public toilets right next door, just in case.
