On the way to Gamla Stan, I visited another old church,
the Adolf Frederiks Kyrka, built in 1768.
(Too bad about his first name, although he was first!)
During my 3 days at the Hotel Kom, this church became my friend. It is close to the hotel and a good landmark. When I saw this church, I knew how to get "home" even without my map!
The thing about these churches is that they are not simply buildings. They are surrounded by large yards with trees and benches -- and graves. This church had a few recent graves (2013) so it seems people are still being buried here. There were also some very old graves, from the 1800s.
To my amazement, there were also crocuses and snowdrops approaching full bloom.
